Our geese came from a specialist local, organic breeder at 10 days old, they were kept indoors and fed grass cuttings until such time that they were physically big enough to go outside to graze. They cannot go outside immediately as they are too little and need heat lamps and protection from foxes and flying predation.

The flock of 25 spends each day outside in our permanent pasture fields, grazing. They are brought in every evening to protect them from the cold and from predators. They walk noisily and comically inside where they have a small organic feed of pellets - without which they would never come in!

We rely on them obtaining virtually all of their nutrition from the grassland resulting in them being slightly smaller than commercial geese but with a flavour and succulence second to none. Our geese are organic and free range -  there are a lot of free range geese available but we have produced organic birds with the same health benefits as our grass fed beef. Organic isn’t the same as free range. The meat will be superior in an organic goose and better still in an organic, grass fed goose.
